Carpe Diem

To the Virgins to Make Much of Time by Robert Herrick
Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying,
And this same flower that smiles today,
Tomorrow will be die.

“gather ye rosebuds while ye may,”
The Latin term for that sentiment is Carpe Diem. Who knows what that means?

Carpe Diem. That’s seize the day.

‘죽은 시인의 사회(Dead Poets Society)’에 나오는 유명한 대사. 영문과 다니던 선배 누나가 위문 편지로 적어 보내줬던 내용인데 읽던 글 중 인용되어 있길래 옮겨 적어 본다.
